We are gearing up for a busy week at CCES! 📚 Monday–Wednesday: BOGO Book Fair Checks can be made payable to the CCES PTO, or you may send cash with your student. 📌 Tuesday: LSIC Meeting at 9:30 AM 🚌 Wednesday: • Kindergarten Field Trip • County Spelling Bee – The top two contestants from each grade level will compete. Students should arrive at RCHS no later than 5:15 PM. If your student is unable to attend, please contact the school office as soon as possible. ⭐ Attendance Drawing: This week is also our monthly attendance drawing! All students with perfect attendance for the week will be entered to win a prize.

Creed Collins Elementary School is joining with WVDE and celebrating Public Schools Week. To kick off the celebration, please help us GO RED for PUBLIC ED tomorrow, Friday February 20th. We encourage our staff, students, and community members to show their love for Creed Collins Elementary School by wearing red tomorrow.

Our students were SO excited today to discover that part of our gym has been transformed into a Mobile STEAM Unit through the Clay Center’s Clay 2 Go program! 🚀🔬✨ This incredible hands-on experience will allow our students to explore, create, and learn through interactive STEAM activities all week long. The pods are designed to spark curiosity and engage students in meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. We’re also excited to invite our families to come check it out! Join us on Thursday evening from 4:30–6:30 PM to view the exhibits. Students and their siblings will have the opportunity to work through the pods together for a fun, interactive experience!

Congratulations to our students who earned 1st place in the Social Studies Fair! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication. You did an amazing job on your projects! These students will now move on to represent our school at the County Social Studies Fair.

We are so proud to share that CCES has reached a 5% chronic absenteeism rate. To celebrate this achievement, tomorrow (Friday, February 13th) will be a Hat Day at CCES! 🎉 All students are invited to wear their favorite hat to school as we say “Hat’s Off” to great attendance! All hats must be school appropriate.

Ritchie County Schools Snow Day Status and Calendar Adjustment
**As of February 2, 2026**
Ritchie County has utilized the allowed 5 NTI days and 5 Inclement Weather "Snow Days" and will be adjusting the calendar as follows: Last Day of School for Students is now May 29, 2026.

May 28th and May 29th are now instructional days.
Ritchie County Schools Calendar is subject to change. We will keep you informed!

🦖🎉 Dino-mite Attendance Celebration! 🎉🦖 Last week, we surprised our students with a special attendance day to celebrate our dino-mite attendance! We are so proud to share that our school’s chronic absenteeism rate was great as we wrapped up the end of the 1st semester. This success is thanks to the hard work of our students, the support of our families, and the dedication of our staff. Way to show up, CCES! Let’s keep the momentum going for the rest of the school year! 💚🦕📚
