Parents or Guardians, Students in grades 3 and 4 have been completing their GSA this week. If your child has completed Reading, Writing, and Math, those scores are now available in the "Parent Portal" (https://wv.portal.cambiumast.com/families.html). The access code has been sent to your child's school email address. Please keep in mind that your child has to complete both the Reading and Writing to receive an English Language Arts (ELA) score. Also, up to 5% of test scores are pulled to be hand scored by the West Virginia Department of Education.

If you need assistance access your child's school email, please contact the school office.

We would also like to thank all the parents and students for making testing a priority this week! We have had great attendance!

🎨 CCES Fine Arts Night Reminder 🎨 Calling all 3rd & 4th grade families! Join us on April 21, 2026 for our CCES Fine Arts Night, where student artwork will be proudly displayed throughout the school. Come celebrate the creativity and hard work of our students! 🍪 Refreshments will be provided by the PTO 🕓 The PTO meeting will take place at 4:15 PM—feel free to stop in while you’re enjoying the showcase! We hope you can join us for a wonderful evening supporting our young artists!

We are gearing up for a busy week at CCES! 📚 Monday–Wednesday: BOGO Book Fair Checks can be made payable to the CCES PTO, or you may send cash with your student. 📌 Tuesday: LSIC Meeting at 9:30 AM 🚌 Wednesday: • Kindergarten Field Trip • County Spelling Bee – The top two contestants from each grade level will compete. Students should arrive at RCHS no later than 5:15 PM. Our students were SO excited today to discover that part of our gym has been transformed into a Mobile STEAM Unit through the Clay Center’s Clay 2 Go program! 🚀🔬✨ This incredible hands-on experience will allow our students to explore, create, and learn through interactive STEAM activities all week long. The pods are designed to spark curiosity and engage students in meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. We’re also excited to invite our families to come check it out! Join us on Thursday evening from 4:30–6:30 PM to view the exhibits. Students and their siblings will have the opportunity to work through the pods together for a fun, interactive experience!

Congratulations to our students who earned 1st place in the Social Studies Fair! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication. You did an amazing job on your projects! These students will now move on to represent our school at the County Social Studies Fair.

We are so proud to share that CCES has reached a 5% chronic absenteeism rate. To celebrate this achievement, tomorrow (Friday, February 13th) will be a Hat Day at CCES! 🎉 All students are invited to wear their favorite hat to school as we say “Hat’s Off” to great attendance! All hats must be school appropriate.
