As the staff of Ritchie County Schools came back to start the 23-24 school year, we had some special people awarded for their achievements. Congratulations go to each of these people. Andy Cain earned the Jeff Sheets award for bus drivers. Bonnie Holbert was awarded our 23-24 Service Person of the Year Award. Heather Lafferre was awarded our 23-24 Teacher of the Year Award. We also honored our retirees at our assembly. Congratulations to all of our retirees. Rusty Gay and Janet Dodd are pictured here with their awards. We are so thankful to each of these people for their dedication to the students of Ritchie County. We hope to have an amazing year. We can’t wait to see our young people when school starts on the 17th.

Breakfast and lunch will be served to students.

Vacancies are found at the same place on our county website, look for "Job Vacancies, click here to apply." You can go in at any time and look for available opening. We just wrapped up our second day of outdoor recreation camp at North Bend. We aren’t sure who’s having more fun… students or teachers! 😎 Some activities students have participated in so far include creek critters🪲, tie dye🎨, archery🏹, boating🚣♂️, tracks and scat🐾, rock painting🪨 and swimming🏊♀️. We’ve had our highest number in attendance this year with 130 students! This camp is so much fun for everyone. We can’t wait for the next 6 days!
This year’s summer academy has been full of the joy of learning. Thanks to all the parents that sent these great children to our summer academy. We have enjoyed working with them.

Ritchie County students involved in the summer learning academy had a wonderful trip to Discovery World in Parkersburg on Tuesday. What a great facility to have so close to us. Kids of all ages enjoyed the day.
The Ritchie County Board of Education hosted the Ritchie County High School 4 x 400 relay team Monday evening. Congratulations to this team for thier first place finish in the 4 x 400 relay at the state track meet.
