Reminder of Mid-Ohio Valley Technical Institute (MOVTI) Procedures regarding high water school cancellations:
When Pleasants County Schools are closed due to HIGH WATER, MOVTI has the option to remain open if Rt. 2 and Rt. 16 are passable, as long as Ritchie, Tyler OR Wetzel County Schools are open and in session.
During a SNOW / ICE event, MOVTI will close when Pleasants County Schools close.
Preschool Enrollment for Ritchie County Schools is currently open. Children must by 4 years old prior to July 1st, 2024 or 3 years old prior to July 1st, 2024, based on qualifying factors.

Ritchie County Schools will operate on a 2-hour early release on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Outside Sporting Events and School Activities will begin at 4:00 pm.
Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:30 am, WVU Parkersburg will be at Ritchie County High School to assist students with completing the online Early College application and paperwork for the Fall 2024 semester.

Ritchie County hosted their annual Spelling Bee Wednesday evening. These young scholars did an amazing job! We would like to congratulate all of these children for being the spelling bee winners for their school. We also want to congratulate our county winners on a job well done.
Students from Ritchie County participated in the Regional Math Field Day at WVU Parkersburg on Monday. What a great group of students! They put forth their very best effort and came away with two students placing as alternates to go to the State Math Field Day Competition. Congratulations to all of these students for winning the local competition and earning the privilege to compete for our county.
