This week is National School Counseling Week. We would like to thank Kayleigh Board for supporting all our elementary students.
What a great way to wrap up a unit about Native Americans with a visit from Drew Waepew-Awaehsaeh. He is a Bear Tribe Indian from the Menominee Wisconsin Tribe. He truly helped to educate the children about his tribe. He also allowed the children time to ask questions based on what they had learned in their unit of study. They were amazed to find that his tribe had never lived in teepee’s but in longhouses. The children were also amazed by his handmade outfit. He said this was his powwow attire. Along with talking to the students he also performed a powwow dance for the children. We are greatful that he took of his time to come in and visit with the kindergarten classes at the school.
