Ritchie County High School Theatre will present the play "Peter Pan" May 12th and 13th. The theatre students are working hard on the play and would love to have you attend.


We are so proud of 4th grade student, Noah, for his outstanding performance at the Regional Math Field day. Noah received 2nd place and will advance to the State Math Field day!


Mrs. Vaughan's Kindergarten class received a special visit from Josh Redwine, Meteorologist at WBOY. He even brought along his friend Snowbird! Be on the lookout for their class tonight, 3/23, on WBOY Channel 12 News!


Save the date for our Academic Learning Camp. Students in grades Preschool through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of June 12th through July 7th at the schools. The time is from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.


Save the date for our Outdoor Recreation Day-Camp at North Bend State Park. Students in grades 2 through 8 are invited to register and attend. This camp takes place the week of July 10th-13th and 17th-20th. The time is from 8:00 am - 2:30 pm with breakfast and lunch provided. School busses will provide transportation. Look for the registration forms which will be sent home the week of April 11th.


Our Preschool students took part in a monster drawing project that they shared with the high school art class. Those students then did their own interpretation of the monster. It is pretty amazing to see the different versions of the monsters. Thanks to both teachers and students for working together.

Students in kindergarten at Harrisville Elementary School have been learning about shapes. They enhanced their learning with their iPads as they took pictures of shapes around them. Then they added sentences with help from their microphone on their iPads as they spoke their sentences.






2nd Graders at Smithville Elementary are in a study of the westward expansion. As you can tell the lesson is coming to life with their covered wagons. Students have been involved in journaling and participating in the Oregon Trail game activity as a class each day.

Students in 3rd grade have learned coding through the Code.org website this year. Now they are applying that skill as they work with the Dash and Dot robots. The robots have caused a great deal of excitement as you can see.

Kindergarten students at Smithville Elementary School learned how to do book reports with the Pages App on their iPads. Their picture reports were truly a work of art. Hats off to all the students and their teacher for their willingness to learn.
