Remember to check the websites of the institutions you may want to attend; most colleges and universities offer scholarships to prospective students. Some of these scholarships have early deadlines (as early as December 1st), so it’s important to check on these soon.
If you visit a scholarship or financial aid website that asks you to pay for their services, it’s probably not a good idea. The websites listed here are all free scholarship search websites. You will never asked to pay to complete the FAFSA, if you are it’s a scam.
Apply for every scholarship for which you are eligible, even if you think you have no chance. You never know until you try!
Make sure to complete and turn in your FAFSA by March 1st to be considered for all financial aid and scholarships. This application will become available October 1.
Many corporations offer scholarships. Keep a lookout for these types of scholarships.
